Optimizer alternatives

One switching guide per tool, held to one rule: our side comes from our published pages and benchmarks, their side only from their own published material, dated.

The switching guides

  • OptiCutter alternative, the strongest organic rival and the fastest third-party web tool in our nine-job benchmark.
  • Magi-Cut alternative, the strongest desktop optimizer we have tested, and the one to read if you need offline software.
  • Cutlistor alternative, the newest of the three, compared on free tiers, materials and imports.

How these pages are written

Feature tables age and vendors change their pages. Each guide therefore names its sources and the month they were read. Where a rival publishes nothing about a capability, the guide says "not published" rather than guessing. Where we have run a head-to-head, the numbers are linked with their method, losses included. A comparison that never concedes anything is an advert. The deciding test is always yours: both tools in any pairing have a free tier, so run one real cutting list through each and count the sheets.

The wider field, browser and desktop tools together, is ranked with benchmarks in the best cut list optimizers in 2026, and the direct side-by-sides live under compare.
